Diametric was approached to collaborate on model branding decals and product labels that would further enhance the company’s high-end brand reputation and perception.

Upon receipt of the tooling and prototype sampling requirements, Diametric expedited the first-off electroformed decals to support an initial trial build. However, minor imperfections were discovered in the finishing process when coating the decals into the bike frame. A solution was required that would resolve this issue without jeopardising the overall weight and unique aesthetics, which are critical unique selling points of the bikes.
A second project involved creating a product label with a limited-edition serial range. The client challenged Diametric to elevate the appearance beyond a standard roll form label. This new component could not be coated in the same way as the main decals, requiring a reliable solution for serialisation and a strong bond suitable for exterior use.
To resolve the finishing issues with the main decals, the Diametric team analysed the problem and evaluated alternative plating thicknesses against durability. An alternative bonding agent was also introduced, allowing the decals to integrate perfectly into the frame without compromising the bike’s weight or visual appeal.
For the limited-edition serial plates, Diametric presented a variety of samples in diverse finishes. The client opted for a fine aluminium hairline brushed finish with contrasting bright silver lettering. Each plate was then individually personalised for the serial range. To ensure a permanent exterior fixture, an automotive grade 3M adhesive was specified to maximise adhesion directly onto the carbon fibre frame.
The final electroformed decals and aluminium serial plates provided a deluxe, high-quality finish for the iconic bikes. By carefully managing weight constraints and material compatibility, Diametric successfully delivered premium branding components that perfectly match the stunning craftsmanship and elite reputation of the EXTANS brand.
