Diametric Donates Branded Keyrings to Army Veteran Simon Harmer

Diametric has donated branded keyrings to Army Veteran, Simon Harmer, as part of their ongoing commitment to helping local charities and organisations.

Simon set up his charity, Blown Away, after he lost his legs while on patrol with the British Army in Afghanistan in 2009. He now travels the world taking part in gruelling physical challenges, delivering motivational speeches and encouraging others to create a mind-set that can overcome even the most impossible feats.

Back in 2015, Diametric created branded keyrings for Blown Away as part of the charity’s marketing and promotional mission. When Simon approached Diametric in 2019, they stepped in and offered to cover the cost after seeing the impact his inspirational work has had.

Graham Steele, Managing Director at Diametric, said: “It was no decision at all to help Simon continue to promote the work he does. We’ve been working hard to support and give back to local organisations and charities and this is a cause close to a lot of our hearts. Having worked with Simon previously and seen the incredible work he’s been doing, the opportunity to help him reach more people was one we jumped at.”

Simon has used his platform to give TED Talks, deliver key messages around mental health and speak on the importance of mind-set and looking at life through a different lens.

“Having the support from Diametric means a lot to me,” Simon said. “The work I do doesn’t just impact people who might have had similar experiences to me but anyone, from any walk of life. People facing challenges at work, at home, entrepreneurs, innovators, children, adults – the list is endless. By having their support, they’re helping to give everyone I meet the chance to learn resilience and strength in a way they otherwise wouldn’t.”

Diametric has continued to invest in local charities and organisations since 2015 with Upham Primary School, Bishop’s Waltham Minibus, Canine Partners, Guide Dogs for the Blind, St John the Baptist Primary School and Blown Away all receiving donations from the company.
